ICP-USD perpetuals go live on Plug, traded through Hyperliquid

Plug users can now open ICP-USD perpetual positions without leaving the wallet — move ICP in, trade on Hyperliquid, withdraw when you're done. The launch lands with ICP near $3.08, up 42% on the month.

ICP-USD perpetuals on Plug via Hyperliquid
Perps come to the wallet. · LedgerLife

ICP-USD perpetual contracts are now live on Plug, giving traders a way to take ICP derivatives positions through Hyperliquid without moving their assets out of the wallet. The flow is self-contained: move ICP into Plug, open an ICP-USD perpetual on Hyperliquid, and withdraw back out when finished — no separate centralised exchange in the middle.

The timing is loud. ICP is trading around $3.08 in the announcement, up roughly 42% over the past month, and perpetuals — positions with no expiry that can run long or short — are the instrument traders reach for when a market starts to move. The integration wires Plug's wallet infrastructure straight into Hyperliquid's venue, keeping custody and trading inside one journey.

The usual caution applies, and applies double here: perpetuals are high-risk, especially with leverage, and the announcement did not spell out the available leverage, fees or other parameters for the ICP-USD market. What it does is shorten the distance between holding ICP in a wallet and trading a derivative on it — for better and for worse.

MULTI/DEX clears short liquidations as ICP climbs

MULTI/DEX perpetuals on the Internet Computer

As the rising ICP price flushed out short positions this week, MULTI/DEX kept running — and, per DFINITY founder Dominic Williams, sent the 5% penalties from those liquidations into the platform's Insurance Fund, where liquidity providers earn the yield.

Screenshots from multidx.ai show ICP/ICPUSD perpetuals at $3.05, up 13.7%, with roughly $6.5M in leveraged notional on the liquidation heat map and a $431,000 insurance buffer showing no uncovered bad debt. The venue settles peer-to-peer rather than through an order book.

Williams said the platform is preparing major upgrades as it moves toward production on ICP — though no launch date or specifics were given, and the figures shift with the market.

A native iOS client brings the Internet Computer into Swift

ICNativeClient — native iOS client for ICP

A Japanese developer, Hude-san, has released ICNativeClient — a Swift package that lets native Apple apps talk directly to ICP canisters, no web frontend required. It supports iOS 17+ and macOS 13+.

Version 0.7.7 adds delegated sessions from existing Ed25519 identities: each session gets a fresh key and the root private key is never kept in the session or its Keychain record. It generates typed Swift models from Candid interfaces, and — the important part — its standard query and call APIs verify responses against IC certification, with a plainly-named "unsafe" API for the times a developer chooses to skip that.

It lands amid growing forum interest in native mobile ICP and Internet Identity's newer link-based mobile auth — another route out of the browser.

Canister Lab

Odin.fun logs its busiest week in a month — 161 commits

Week 34 brought 161 commits and 60 pull requests. The headline change: you now have to hold a token to comment on it — a Redis-cached gate built so an internal fault can't be cached as a refusal — with the same rule extended to voting and pinning. Communities can finally see the BTC fee they earn on members' trades, tallied hourly with 7- and 30-day figures. Odin also cleared orphaned auth credentials, stopped repeat wallet-signing prompts, and added mobile quick buy/sell straight from token tables. Full story →

ICPay pulls canister management into one interface

ICPay is moving more of the canister lifecycle inside its own platform — full canister settings are now supported, a channel-view bug is fixed and six-plus others cleared. It's also leaning into tipping: connect a social profile and share a link like icpay.app/1 to receive tips, with a claimed 32% speed gain on Google PageSpeed. The current developer path still runs log in → deposit ICP → create canister → dfx deploy → monitor and top up in ICPay; the direction is to fold more of that into a single screen. Full story →
